STEM 2A

In STEM 2A, I learned how to combine math and technology in new and interesting ways.

One of the projects I completed during this semester was researching the practical uses of Mobius Strips and Klein Bottles in the real world.  After learning about these two complex designs in great length, discovering their practical applications was highly fascinating, especially since their uses were very unexpected.  To view the presentation of this research, click here.

Another project was to research optical illusions.  While researching optical illusions, I was able to learn about their creation and how they manipulate the mind in different ways to create different images.  Optical illusions are much more complex than I orginally realized, which made the project even more fascinating.  To see the full presentation, click here

Finally, I learned computering programming during this course using Scratch to create intricate drawings.  To create just simple designs, the coding was complex and took a long time to write and test.  For my final project using Scratch, I created a picture of waves that relied on many programming steps in order to work properly.  Please click to view the code and program.
