Hi, my name is Payton Bennett and I go to school at Roland Park Country School in Baltimore, Maryland. I have been a participant in the STEM program at my school since it was first offered in the eighth grade. I started in the program with a year long course in the eight grade, and then did two semester long courses throughout both my freshman and sophomore year. These courses togehter furthered my skill and knowledge in the STEM field, and peaked my interest in STEM. I also doubled in science courses my sophmore year taking both Physics and Chemistry, in order to be able to take an AP science course my Junior year. During the entirety of my junior year, I completed a STEM internship testing the affect of high heat on different brands of plastic water bottles. In July of 2017, I wil also be completing another STEM internship called Environmental Science Summer research Experience for Young Women Internship (E.S.S.R.E.) for three weeks. I plan to graduate in June, 2018 with the STEM certificate, and to further my career in STEM after high school.
