STEM 11

Water Sustainablility Project

In the first semester of STEM my junior year, each person in the class found an issue related to water loss and how to create a device in order to conserve water. My group decided that the largest amount of water was wasted in the kitchen sink, due to washing dishes or cooking. We created a type of piping that could be connected to any sink, which reused water for certain tasks in the kitchen, such as washing dirty dishes. For this task, the water would be piped through a carbon filter in order to clean the reused water, but for washing clean dishes, the water would be unused. Through the process of creating pipes and divising water through different pipes, my group created a way to more efficiently save water. The name of our sink was called the Eco-Sink.
