STEM IIB

Sunscreen Production and Presentation

In the second semester of STEM II, our class was split into groups for a long term project where we worked on the production and presentation of sunscreen. My group tested the safety of the sunscreen by testing on daphnia, ecoli, and eventually human skin. It was necessary that more than 50% of the bacteria tested was able to survive the chemicals that were eventually mixed into the sunscreen. The package was created on a budget by using cardboard, plastic bags, and hot glue. The end goal of the sunscreen was to have the most protection, while making the package cheap and afforable, and an easily accessible top.
