Welcome to my STEM portfolio! My name is Casey Feinstein, and I am in the class of 2019 at Roland Park Country School in Baltimore, MD. I have been actively participating in the STEM institute at RPCS since 8th grade, and this portfolio is a cumulative display of my major works since then. My love of sciences 'stems' back to middle school, when I was recommended to take an 8th grade STEM course. In 8th grade, I worked collaboratively with three other classmates to participate in a nationwide competition, eCybermission, where we won first place in the state for our experimentation and research on sleep deprivation. Since then, I have taken Honors classes in Biology, Physics, Algebra, Geometry and Precalculus. I also have four semesters of STEM, where I have conducted experiments on seasonal change and short term memory, programmed a robot to navigate on Mars, explored the wonders of Non-Euclidean Geometry, created computer programs to draw animated characters, and even engineered and pitched a real, working sunscreen. Currently, I am taking Honors Trigonometry and Calculus, AP Computer Science Principles, Honors Chemistry, and I am continuing my STEM research internship, where I am working on a water sustainability engineering project. I plan on continuing my STEM career by embarking on more advanced STEM courses like AP Calculus, AP Chemistry, and other engineering and technology courses for my senior year, as well as a three week internship on cyber security this upcoming summer to stay on course for the STEM Institute Certificate.
