Welcome to my STEM Portfolio! My name is Adele Spencer and I am a member of the 2019 class at Roland Park Country School in Baltimore, Maryland. My involvement in the STEM Institute began during my second year at Roland Park Country School, in 8th grade. I have completed four semesters of STEM courses throughout my freshman and sophomore year, which includes STEM IA, IB, IIA, IIB. My STEM Internship will take place during the upcoming summer going into my senior year of high school. I will be travelling to Bali, Indonesia on a National Geographic Student Expedition for a hands on experience with marine biology. Here, I will learn about bioluminescence and diverse coral species, as well as studying water conservation in a green school. During my junior year, I took the AP Computer Science Principles course in order to fufill the Computer Science requirements. For my final year at Roland Park Country School, I will be finishing the last of my STEM certificate requirements by taking classes such as: Sustainable Design, Calculus, Statistics, AP Biology, and Chesapeake Bay. In the future, I look forward to persuing a career based around Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
