My name is Najah Soudan, and I am a STEM Student at RPCS.  Below, you will find a list of projects that I completed throughout my time in four STEM courses and one computer science course!

STEM IA

Scratch Cat: This is a Scratch Cat programming project that tests the effects of sound on short term memory. The subject has to remember the order of a burger while hearing someone in the background counting down from 10-1. 

Short Term Memory.docx: This is a report on how sound would impact short term memory, which includes the results from the short term test on the Scratch Cat programming software.

How Precipitation and Soil Temperature Affect Grass Growth Rate:  See poster below

This poster shows our results of how precipitation and soil temperature affect the grass growth rate. We kept track of the precipitation each day for class and then took the soil temperature and measured the height of the grass as the seasons changed.

Clay Mask Project.docx: This report includes a description of a clay mask project (specifically, a list of materials, a procedure for making the mask, and a justification for the construction process).

STEM 2A

Scratch project contructing a shape:  In this Scratch Cat project,  I learned more about programming through making an animation of an animal making a circle with different colors.

STEM 2B

Mechanical and Chemical Recycling of Aluminum 3.pptx: This powerpoint presentation demonstratesabout how we chemically and mechanically extracted from a yogart lid.

Oxybenzone State-Gate Review 1 (3).pptx: This is a StageGate review for the LD50 test,  and the goal was to find the amount of oxybenzone and om-cinnimate that is safest for sunscreen use.

ESSRE

The Explanation for Dropping Nitrate Levels(Research Paper).docx: This report was completed during my internship at the Environmental Science Summer Research Experience for Young Women program. My group researched how white grass might have an effect on the dropping of nitrate levels in a particular area.
